Strengthening excellence in vocational practice
Orygen’s Professional Support Program is the first of its kind in Australia, offering structured, specialist support for vocational staff working with people experiencing mental ill-health. Designed specifically for vocational roles, the program strengthens practice while supporting role clarity, professional boundaries and workforce wellbeing.
Orygen has extensive experience delivering professional support to Individual Placement and Support (IPS) practitioners across youth mental health services, homelessness and Out of Home Care settings as well as employment services staff embedded within community based mental health services.
Why engage in Professional Support?
High-quality vocational services depend on a confident, capable and well-supported workforce. Professional Support helps vocational staff build skills, navigate complex practice challenges and sustain effective, person-centred support—leading to stronger outcomes for clients and services alike.
This program is ideal for:
- Frontline vocational and employment services staff, supervisors and program managers working in mental health settings or supporting people with mental ill-health into employment or education
- Organisations seeking to implement or strengthen IPS-informed practice
Delivered by experienced Professional Support facilitators, the program provides a structured space for guided reflection, problem-solving and professional growth from a vocational perspective. Sessions support staff to enhance practice, maintain wellbeing and respond effectively to the realities of complex service environments.
