IPS Learn for headspace

Welcome to Orygen’s youth-focused Individual Placement and Support (IPS) micro-credentials, all of which are available on Orygen’s IPS learning platform, IPS Learn.  

Micro-credentials include the Core Skills to Deliver IPS program and advanced level micro-credentials designed to cater to more experienced IPS staff.  

Note: IPS Learn is currently only available to IPS staff working in the Department of Social Services-funded IPS program delivered in headspace.

What are micro-credentials?

Micro-credentials are skill-specific certifications that offer flexibility to support career development outside of a formal qualification framework.  

Fast facts about Orygen’s IPS micro-credentials: 

  • Complete any micro-credential to earn a digital badge and certificate of completion from Orygen. 
  • Complete the Core Skills to Deliver IPS program in full to access advanced IPS micro-credentials. 
  • Knowledge and skills gained by completing micro-credentials can be used to apply for recognition of prior learning into nationally recognised qualifications including: 
    • Certificate IV in Career Development; 
    • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work; 
    • Certificate IV in Mental Health; and 
    • Certificate IV in Youth Work. 
  • The Australian Government has a pilot of micro-credentials in higher education underway and also released a national micro-credential framework to provide greater clarity on the value of micro-credentials.
